funny stuff that deals with cell phones.

Today I have decided to make my blog a funny-er one than usual. I'm tired and do not really want to go through the stress of looking up new facts about phones. So I have put some pictures on here that show some funny phones. The first one is of a very tall man with a phone taped to his back. I do not know why he has it taped to his back. As you can clearly see from the photo, the phone is old and needs to be plugged in to the wall to work. This man is not very smart, don't be like him. The next picture I would like you to direct your attention to is the one of the cart. This is one of the "Mobile" phone options in India right now. If you need to make a phone call, you simply go up to a cart that moves through the crowds and put money in. It is like a land line that moves. I think America can learn from this. If you want to start a company that does this, move to a developing nation, I like the idea but in the US, everyone has phones already. The last picture is the one of the ear. As you can tell from the shape the ear is in, DO NOT DO THIS. Your ear will be grossly stretched out . While this man might think it is cool to carry his phone around in his ear, most normal people would be turned off by this. This guy needs to be mentally evaluated. In conclusion;carts with phones, cool but out dated, phones on you back, stupid idea, phone in the ear, even more stupid than the phone on the back idea.

teens and phones

Today I have chosen to make my blog about the dangers of driving and using your cellular device. Everyone knows that driving can be fun and it can also kill people if done incorrectly. Teens have a hard enough time focusing on the road as it is, and with cell phones teens can talk to there friends while they are driving. As you can see in this clearly un-staged photo, the girl is making no eye contact at the road at all. That is because she is using her eyes to text someone that is apparently more important to her than the family of 7 in the car next to her going to grandma's.( and some people might say that they can watch the road with one eye and glace at the phone with the other and unless you have a lazy eye, you can't control just one of your eyes to do something.) I don't know about this girl but many people now seem to not care about the family of 7 next to them on the road. This is a huge problem in children today. I am mostly blaming it on faulty parenting, but kids need to figure out when it is appropriate to text and call people. I think that the government should stop using our phones to listen in on people and start making laws about this. I hope that people think about this blog and stop texting people while driving, because unless your on the phone with Bill Gate's daughter,( in this case you should pull over and talk to her)you can wait until you arrive at your destination.

Bill Gates

Business at the speed of thought
By Bill Gates
pg 49- 95
Today on my blog I am going to talk about my book and the big picture it provides. Bill Gates book is a great read for people that have a lot of time and have a long attention span. This is only for small business owners and it would not provide much help for large business owners. This is a passage from the book. " a similar application of information technology enables Mark's and Spencer's to work closely with its more than 300 clothing manufacturers." As you can clearly see the world will benefit from this book when we all gain the courage and attention span to read it. I also want to inform everyone that if you search pictures of Bill Gates daughter, you will find one single picture of a girl in a black shirt and this is clearly not his daughter. So I just wanted to inform ever one of this. I would like to continue to tell you about what a great book this is. If i could somehow find a way to melt it and drink it i would because then I would be smart.

Business @ the speed of thought

I've been reading Bill Gates book and I have to say that it is quite difficult to read. It is a very good book but he wrote it in the past decade. With it being "outdated" it does not provide information that is even slightly relevant to any situation in the real world. In this book Bill talks about using the Internet to better prepare your company for the economic fight to come. This is not my book post but it does have something to do with my topic of cell phones. People now can use cell phones to trade stocks and check emails while the are eating lunch. With all of these capabilities, people can perform business transactions in less time than ever. In his book Bill talks about how if one company could control all of this power while every other company had to do everything in an an old fashioned manner, they would control most of their market. I just wanted to talk about Bill Gates because he is recognized as the father of modern computers. I think that if we all read this book we will better understand how businesses run and how to become successful. This might not have a lot to do with cell phones but I like the idea that people can do things with phones that they could not do 10 or even 5 years ago.

book post

Business @ the speed of thought
Bill Gates
pg 24-47

Well since my last post Bill has been giving me a tour of a normal work day for an employee. My name is Sharon. I do not like that name and it is kinda a stalker name. So he takes me through a tour of the work place and he hires me. I then get a run down of my daily duties and jobs and how they are easier with computers to do it all. I have to get business files and instead of walking up and down flights of stairs, I get to email people and get them in a second. It is pretty much a borning day and I did not get fired. As you can tell this book is not for children to read. I think this book should be outlawed for lack of interesting facts in it. It might have been "the bee's knees" 10 years ago, but now it is out dated and borning.

How safe is your phone?

No one can object to the fact that cell phones have become an everyday household item. Almost every person in the work force has one. Most kids aged 12 to 18 have them and with all of these people having phones, how safe is it? We all know that you can take pictures and send text but what if you lost your phone and you had revealing things about yourself on it? That would be bad. The lesson here is don not put pictures and messages on your phone that you do not want everyone to see. But that is not the main reason I chose safety as my topic today. I did it because of new facts that are coming out about the phone and what people can do. Evey one knew that the government was listening to our calls but who knew that they could hear through the mic. while not in use. I believe this is wrong and something should be done against it. I understand that the government wants to protect the county but where can they draw the line? Is the next step cameras in our homes, I hope not. I think that if the government has the power to do all of this they should put it to better use that to spy on its own citizens. I believe we need new laws for stopping governments from taking over our lives. The constitution was made along time ago, and i'm pretty certain they did not have phones and therefore did not worry about it at the time, but with changes in time should come changes in government .

My book project

I have started reading the book Business @ the speed of light, by Bill Gates. I have read pages 1 through 24 and I am still having a hard time understanding what he is talking about but it is still a good book. I chose this book because Bill Gates is like one of the most powerful people in technology. In the section that I have read he talks about how companies can use technology to make their business run faster, better and provide more of what the customer wants. He gives the examples of Ford and McDonald's as companies that have used technology to get consumer feedback very quickly. I think that the book is funny because it was written in 1997 just before the big ordeal of the new millennium. I have also realized that a lot of the stuff in the book is realistic and companies would be considered primitive if they didn't use technology. The classrooms and stores use technology to better themselves against other schools and direct competition for businesses. As of right now I am not in favor of this book just because it is outdated and he is talking about stores staring to put sales online and track everything through a network, and the are all doing it now.

Jitterbug

All of this information as found at teckcrunch.com.

Have you seen this new phone? If you haven't then you have been living under a rock for the past couple years. This phone is the Jitterbug. It is the answer to many peoples complaints about old folk and cell phones. It was specifically made to be the most easy to use phone. There are two types of Jitterbug phones, the Dial and the One Touch. As you can see in the picture, the Dial closely resembles a regular phone. It has all of the numbers and a yes/no button. This makes it easy to use and the numbers are very large to make sure old people can use them. You can not text or take pictures wit this phone or do anything that any other phone can do. I enjoy the simplicity of this phone and think it is a great idea for older people. The One Touch is the only phone of it's kind. It has a total of nine buttons and most people will only use three of them. As you can see there is an operator button to call anyone with out having to find their name in your phone. There is a tow button to call a preset tow company to come to you and pick you up. There is also a 911 button for those emergencies that always happen with old people. I believe that this phone is a joke. diff you don't have the mental strength to look up a loved ones name in your phone, you shouldn't have a cell phone.

Which should you choose? Droid or IPhone.
The first thing that you need to know about each phone is the network each has. Droid has Verizon, and IPhone has At&t. Both have good 3g service. So as far as networks go they are ruffly the same and it doesn't matter what network you get. As far as shape and structure go each phone has a very different style. The IPhone is a single slab of machinery. It is all touch and almost no buttons. The whole phone can be used as a screen. It has no keypad but you do get to one on the screen when you need to type something. It has a lot of memory and 5 hours of talk time with one charge. The droid is a sliding keyboard phone with a full touch screen and a keyboard under it. It has a very powerful and fast processor, but lacks the memory that the other phone has.
The next thing is the features on each and mostly the apps for each. As we know there is an IPhone app for everything( there are over 100,000) and the Droid has the Android market.(10,000 apps) The Droid is fully google capable and uses it to the full extent of its capability. The IPhone has ITunes and that is a great thing for most people because many have an IPod.
So both are good and both are very expensive and unless you have $300 to drop on one of these you can forget everything I just said.

cell phones and countries

I found this list of the top 100 countries and how many cell phones they use.

http//www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0933605.html, this website gives you a list of the countries. I thought it was cool that china was on the top of the list. This shows that even when countries are poor as dirt, they can still make an impact on the world.
This is an early cell phone. As you can tell, no one in the world uses these anymore. This just shows how much cell phones have changed. It is hard to believe that in 10 years cell phones could become obsolete. I can not not to see what the future holds for technology.
I enjoy using a cell phone, but I think people get carried away. We just held a national competition for texting. I think it was a joke that some one could win a scholarship for texting fast. I believe that people in the world are into cell phones way too much. We some how need to regulate how we use them. Its great to talk to people but where can you draw the line? Is having a video chat with someone in France too much. With all of the worlds communications on data and computers, it makes it easier for people to hack and mess everything up. If you have seen the new live free or die hard movie, you would have seen what could happen if a smart gut could get a hold of the worlds communications. If one man or a nation get control of everything with computers, it could ruin everything. I like that people can check email and trade stocks online, but what if you lose your smart phone and someone finds it and goes onto your stock trader on your phone with the Internet capabilities. They could lose you more money than you own and put you in debt. I think that you should only be able to do certain things on phones.

OMG I figured out how to put a title

So I tried to go the weekend without my phone, and it was pretty easy because I sick most of the weekend. I do think it would have been more difficult if i could have actually talked to people. So now I would like to tell you about some of the amazing things phones can do. As most people know, phones can go on the internet and download music and games. Now phones can get GPS and with smart phones you can buy things for it like a recipe book, if your hungry, a map of a city, a spanish dictonary, that speaks the lanuage for you. So now we are getting to the point where you can do almost anything with the use of a cellphone. After much research, I found that you can also transform in to mini fighting robots. Im kidding, but they can hold video chats with people, which is very cool.

I believe that if we didn't have cell phones we would probably fal apart as a socity. With cell phones gone from the earth we would have to talk to people and it would probably kill us and make us cry. I think we need to try to go a week without phones and see how much we fall apart.

Friday, January 22, 2010

The very first cell phones were very large and bulky, they were very expensive and hard to use. Only the most important people had them.
I hope that you can all comment on this and provide me with feedback on this subject.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

This is an add on to my first post. I want people to know that I got a new phone and it flips so it is really cool. I will also be talking about how phones look and how the styles have changed and what is in stored for the future.
I want everyone to know that I chose to do cell phones and how they have changed the way the world talks to eachother. I think the first cell phones were very oversized and they might even be radioactive.
